Jake Doherty
From the vibrant streets of Lafayette to the majestic Alps of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, my journey has been one of adventure and passion. I’m Jake Doherty, your guide to the hidden gems and historic wonders of Bavaria.
I’ve been everything from a history major and theater minor to a bartender in Lousiana’s French quarter. I traveled the world, worked for the US military in Garmisch, and ultimately settled here in Bavaria. Past tour participants can attest that every part of my background shines through, whether through my many historical factoids, meticulously planned itineraries, or love of storytelling and performance.
With over 20 years of calling this place home, I founded All Things Garmisch (and Bavarian Beer Vacations, now merged together) to share my love for this region’s rich culture and breathtaking landscapes. Join me, and let’s uncover the stories that make Bavaria truly magical.
